Emergency Preparadness, Response and Recovery Information

Prior to September 24th, 2005, the Lake Area had minimal motivation to be in a major state of hurricane preparadness. Hurricane Rita changed this!  Until Rita, history shows Calcasieu Parish and Lake Charles as a refuge for our southern, coastal neighbors.  In order to deal with Rita's Wrath, over 15,000 Katrina evacuees had to be dealt with in addition to our communities.

With great conviction, I state my pride in our government and citizenry response to both aiding Katrina victims and dealing with Hurricane Rita, also a storm of historic proportions.

In today's climate because world events force local concerns, this section of my site is intended to serve a resource beyond hurricane preparedness.

With this in mind, I hope the links and information below are helpful.

                                                                      Sincerely,
                                                                     Derenda Grubb
